The Sukharka Pouch
Featuring two main compartments, one open compartment for magazines and the second, outer compartment which has an internal divider and Velcro fields closed with a quick open Velcro flap. The innovative modular design allows you to increase your mag carrying capacity and increase your GP pouch space all while taking up minimal space on your battle belt or plate carrier.
The secondary compartment can function as either as admin storage for smaller items like chemlights, notebooks, batteries or medical supplies or can accept additional magazine inserts, if used for magazines the flap attaches to the internal Velcro so it doesn’t get in the way.
Personally we prefer having 2 magazines in the pouch and keep the rest as a GP compartment. In a pinch it will do a good job stowing 4 mags, and that’s a pretty cool option to have.
From the EMW Team:
This is personally my favourite pouch and the one I rely on the most in my role as a medic; I actually have two mounted on my battle belt at the moment. It allows me to carry extra mags without having to mount additional mag pouches while at the same time leaving me with a fairly spacious GP compartment for medical supplies and odds and ends. Being able to cut down on bulk, only using 3 Molle columns on my battle belt, and not having to sacrifice magazine-carrying capacity or essential medical supplies is a game changer.ย
What does Sukharka mean:
It roughly translates to ”Hardtack pouch” or Haversack. This however is a very modern alternative to such antiquated nonsense. but I think it captures the spirit pretty well, you can set this pouch up however you want, no hardtack required. back when the average life expectancy was ‘Tuesday” and cholera, not drones did most of the killing, soldier’s rations were issued in these bags, which soldiers then re-purposed to carry anything and everything. It’s that versatility that this pouch carries on.
