Overview
The Avis Dump Pouch is a Ukrainian classic. Some SSO guys love them so much they rock two on their kit. We don’t necessarily recommend that, but being able to quickly and safely store empty magazines without taking your eyes off the target is a must. The Avis Dump pouch makes that easy with its wide, semi-rigid opening making indexing mags into the pouch simple and hard to miss. This opening can be quickly closed by a shock cord drawstring, keeping the contents secured from bouncing out. The mesh bottom allows quick drainage of water and sand/dirt while the main portion of the pouch’s 500D cordura construction won’t snag on branches or protruding objects.
From the EMW Team:
Dump pouches are essential kit for most roles on the modern battlefield. For discarding magazines, in Ukraine you can’t just drop mags on the ground and expect to magically have them restocked when you return from a mission: you reuse the mags you have. Also, sometimes you get stuck in an extended firefight and have to reload your mags in position; you’ll need your empty mags safely stored on your person for that. As medics, we use dump pouches for more than just empty mags, we use them to discard wrappers from medical supplies, a sharps container, briefly stowe a bag/bottle of lactated ringers or a case of, etc. the list goes on.
When you’re bumping around in the back of an evac vehicle you can’t just set an item down and expect it to be there when you turn back (unless you’ve adequately secured it) your work table is your kit and your hands until it’s on the patient or otherwise secured.
