The Rhizome Leaf Pack is an EMW team favourite. It takes advantage of usually unused deadspace on the rear plate carrier bag, being both out of the way and within easy reach. With the added bonus of providing lumbar support when sitting in a vehicle as well as lumbar ballistic protection, we highly recommend the Avis Roll IFAK.

As vehicle-based CASEVAC medics, the Roll IFAK stands out as a good option for several reasons. Its profile and placement on kit is unobtrusive: it doesn’t jam up against the steering wheel, get snagged entering and exiting vehicles, or introduce bulk to the already cramped back of an evac vehicle. When you’re hauling ass to the stabpoint down a cratered road with two medics and two casualties in the bed of an L200 pickup, well-placed and unobtrusive gear is a priority. Having a bit of soft armor protection against shrapnel (most common mechanism of injury for us) over the lumbar region is an added bonus.
About the Manufacturer
Rhizome Systems was founded in 2022, in Kyiv, Ukraine. They specialise in the use of high-end materials and manufacturing techniques. never taking ”good enough” over perfection. You can gain some insight into how they go about that on their Instagram account, they are always experimenting with something, toying around with new materials and techniques. the company was born out of the desire to help equip the military with the best of the best, which they take a lot of pride in. but rather than sitting still they continuously try to outdo themselves, they use nothing but the best materials, if you ever find an issue with your gear and let them know, they will probably address the issue and change their production pattern within a few days. but to date we haven’t been able to find any issues with any of their kit.
